October Stated

Saturday, October 31, 2026 — Circumpunct Lodge No. 777 had the distinct honor of welcoming Most Worshipful Brother John A. Bridegroom for his official visit during the Lodge’s October Stated Meeting. The gathering marked several significant occasions, including the election of officers for the 2027 Masonic year, as the Brethren selected their leadership for the coming year. A highlight of the meeting was the presentation of Masonic Lewis Jewels to three members of Circumpunct Lodge, recognizing their family legacies and the enduring bonds of Freemasonry across generations.

The Significance of the Masonic Lewis Jewel
The Masonic Lewis Jewel is a distinguished emblem honoring a Freemason’s family lineage, traditionally recognizing the connection between a Mason and his father or other Masonic ancestors. The term Lewis originates from an ancient stonemason’s lifting device used to raise heavy stones during construction. In speculative Freemasonry, it symbolizes the son of a Mason and his responsibility to support his parents, just as the original tool supported great weight. The jewel features interconnected bars representing successive generations of Freemasons, often engraved with names, initiation dates, and Lodge affiliations. Some jewels commemorate Masonic traditions spanning several generations. The presentation of these jewels serves as a powerful reminder that Freemasonry is more than a fraternity—it is a legacy of brotherhood, family, and values passed from one generation to the next.

Circumpunct Lodge No. 777 extends its appreciation to MWB John A. Bridegroom for his visit, congratulates its newly elected officers, and proudly recognizes the three Brethren honored with their Lewis Jewels. May the bonds of Brotherhood and the traditions of our Craft continue to flourish for generations to come.
